Overhaul of the spillway gates of the Velle, Castrelo and Frieira Power Plants comprises different systems and activities with the final aim of being able to remotely control them safely from the Batundeira CCI and to improve the autonomous operation of the gate system in the regulation of the Ecological Flow. Furthermore, it is intended to increase the safety of gates, in other words, their reliability.

The need to be able to automatically operate gates to permanently provide the ecological flow required by public administrations is resolved.
